Robert Hewitt, born in Kansas City, MO, February 15, 1933, passed away on December 22 due to complications from COVID-19. Formerly of Blue Bell, PA, he has recently been living at Meadowood Retirement Community in Worcester, PA. Most beloved husband of the late Jean T. Hewitt and the late Mary Louise Burgoyne. Dearest brother of Rebecca and the late James. Cherished father of Holly Stevens (Richard), Christopher (Laura), and Diane. Adored “Bob Bob” to his grandchildren Christine Adamchak, Kyle Stevens, Caroline Stevens, Jennifer Unger, Brendan Hewitt, Alex Andrussier, and Hanna Andrussier, and his great grandchildren Isabelle Hewitt, Harper Unger, and Jacob Andrussier. Well-loved friend to many.
Summing up his life in recent months, he frequently said, “No regrets. None.” He was proud to have served his community as an Eagle Scout and his country as a U.S. Marine. A graduate of Lehigh University and a member of the Kappa Alpha Society, he had a long career in the packaging industry, and our family always had Whitman’s Chocolates, San Giorgio spaghetti, and Taylor Pork Roll in the house because of his sales accounts. He loved our summers in Maine, and he was passionate about sailing especially in the Chesapeake.
Due to the current pandemic, services will be private.
Contributions in his memory may be made to The Chesapeake Bay Foundation, 6 Herndon Ave., Annapolis, MD 21403, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
